Through Mother Mary’s inspiration the legion of Mary was established in Cordel on the 31st of July 1994 under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Valerian D’souza. “Mary- our beautiful mother shines like the moon” is the belief of this association.The main aim of the legion is to be the weapon of Christ in initiating the Kingdom of God & to inculcate his holiness. “Service through Mary, our mother” is the motto of the legion. There are 4 steps to be followed to achieve our goal, they are; |

- The responsibility undertaken should be fulfilled despite of all the obstacles.
- A member of this association has to be like salt which gives taste to the dish.
- He must be disciplined and must believe in teamwork.
- He must be selfless in his work and decision and must strive to fulfill the Lord’s desire.

| Our Present Activities are: |
- Moral support is given to the sick & suffering.
- We donate blood and help old people write letters.
- We visit hospitals and old age houses.
- We help our neighbours and work for the betterment of others.
- We visit orphanages every month and entertain them by our cultural activities.
- We organize free dental and eye checkups.

| At present there are 25 members in this association and we meet every Sunday after the 7:30am mass. |
